HOW IT HAPPENED:
- First Quarter: Florida Southern controlled the opening tip, and Moc guard Bailey Florin sunk a shot from behind the arc for the first bucket of the game. Florin quickly connected on another three-pointer, helping the home team to start with a 10-2 run. Maddie Herr converted a three-point play on Lynn's final possession of the quarter, but Florida Southern claimed a 20-16 lead at the end of the frame.
- Second Quarter: The Mocs continued their offensive rhythm to start the second period, scoring seven of the quarter's first nine points. The teams combined to shoot just 10-of-31 from the floor, but the Fighting Knights won the rebound battle 13-11. Tifani Kerrison and Shaunt'e Tucker combined for seven second-quarter points, but the Mocs carried a 41-29 advantage into the locker room at the intermission.
- Third Quarter: The Mocs quickly went back to work again in the third quarter, expanding the lead to as many as 18 in the first six minutes of the period. Herr and Nina Guillaume combined for eight of Lynn's 15 points, and the Fighting Knights connected on five of their six free throws. Florida Southern shot 50% from the floor, however, to go on top 59-44 heading to the final quarter.
- Fourth Quarter: The home team continued to thrive offensively, scoring the first eight points of the fourth stanza. Lynn was held to just nine points highlighted by four from Brekia Henderson. Florida Southern came away with a 79-53 victory to improve to 16-2 overall this season.
STATS FROM THE GAME:
- Maddie Herr finished the night as Lynn's leading scorer for the second consecutive game, scoring 13 points that included a perfect 5-of-5 effort from the charity stripe.
- Four Mocs scored in double-figures, with Florin recording 17 points to lead all scorers.
- Guillaume tied Anja Fuchs-Robetin for a game-high six rebounds.
- Lynn shot just 31% from the floor, while Florida Southern claimed a 52.7% clip.
- The Fighting Knights won the turnover battle by a tally of 41-35.
