Box Score Orlando, Fla. – The Lynn University volleyball team posted another 3-0 victory on Saturday, taking down the University of Alabama in Huntsville to close out the weekend at the 2016 South Region Crossover. With the sweep over the Chargers, the Fighting Knights secured victories in all three of their matches against Gulf South Conference opponents without dropping a set.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Set 1 | Setter Marissa Tandron (14 assists) utilized Cristina Llorens as the focal point of the offense in the opening frame as the senior outside seized numerous openings down the line for six kills on 13 swings (.385). The Fighting Knights led from 2-1 on, grabbing an early advantage behind a 6-0 run.
- Set 2 | The second set remained close early, leading to a 10-10 tie, but Lydia West took over for the Fighting Knights in the second half of the stanza. The senior middle finished the period with six kills on nine attempts and was involved in five of the defense's six blocks (two solo).
- Set 3 | Lynn limited its offense to just two errors in the final set, hitting a match-high .351, and used an early 9-3 edge to close out the sweep. Cleuza Porto put away five kills (.333) while Llorens tacked on four more.
STATS OF THE MATCH:
- A trio of attackers led the Blue and White offense with 12 kills apiece. West notched hers at an effective .409 hitting clip, Porto swung disciplined with just two errors (.333) and Llorens (.290) added eight digs for the near double-double.
- West's five blocks in the second stood as the match high, while Tandron added four block assists and finished with 39 helpers.
- Libero Katie Knight sniped in three more service aces and boasted a match-high 14 digs.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- The Fighting Knights won nine consecutive sets for the first time this season.
- Lynn is 9-0 vs. GSC opponents at the crossover tournament over the past three years.
- The offense hit an impressive .318 over the three matches this weekend, while the defense limited their opponents to a combined .096 hitting clip.
