Box Score BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University's volleyball team came out on fire Friday night, rolling through Embry-Riddle in the first two sets but the Eagles rebounded with three straight to knock off the home team in five. Four Fighting Knights notched double-digit kills while Nicol Colonna set a career-high with 23 digs.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Set 1 | Both offenses came out rolling with each producing their best hitting clip of the night. The Eagles locked in at .333 while Lynn recorded an impressive .483 behind a balanced attack. The Fighting Knights went on a 5-0 run early on that gave them a lead for the rest of the frame. Colonna went 6-for-8 on the attack with no errors.
- Set 2 | The Blue & White carried over the momentum and opened up with nine of the first 11 points in the second. Marissa Tandron continued to move along the offense with 14 assists while Cleuza Porto matched Colonna'a first-set effort and Cristina Llorens bounced all four of her swings.
- Set 3 | Lynn cooled down in the third as the Eagles led the whole way, closing the door on the potential sweep. The defense was rather active though with 25 digs, including eight from Katie Knight.
- Set 4 | The fourth was a back-and-forth battle with six tie scores and five lead changes. Embry-Riddle got in front following a 13-13 tally, barely inching out the home side to force a deciding stanza. Colonna tallied double-digit digs in the fourth set alone.
- Set 5 | Embry-Riddle jumped ahead early, 9-2, but the Fighting Knights responded with their own 9-4 spurt. A Lynn attack error and an Eagles' kills put an end to the final frame, 15-12.
STATS OF THE MATCH:
- Lynn spread the wealth on offense as four attackers reached double figures. Colonna co-led the squad with 17 kills, hitting at an effective .394 clip and adding a personal-best 23 digs on defense.
- Porto also finished with 17 kills on the night, followed by Lydia West with 14 and Llorens with 12. Llorens tacked on three blocks and 19 digs for the double-double.
- Knight hit the 20-dig mark for the sixth time this season and dropped in a match-high two aces. Tandron rounded out at 56 assists with 13 digs on defense.
- The Eagles received a big game from Amanda Saunders as she tallied 17 kills (.311), seven blocks and six digs.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Embry-Riddle won its first matchup against Lynn since 2002.
- Tandron is 24 assists away from hitting the 4,000 mark in her career.
- The team's 87 digs marks a season-high while tying for assists (69).
- Colonna joins Knight as the only Lynn players to record 23 digs in a match this season.
