HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Set 1 | A dominating 8-0 run sealed the deal late in the first set for the Fighting Knights as the home side looked sharp in all facets of the game in the opener.  Lynn went to Cleuza Porto on the outside right away as she put away five kills to help the team to its best hitting stint of the night (.435). After recording four or less aces in three straight matches, the Fighting Knights had already sniped four through one period of play.
  • Set 2 | The Panthers held a handful of slight leads early on but more efficient attacking allowed Lynn to keep the edge from 13-12 on out. Porto added six more while Claire Angelich, Lydia West and Cristina Llorens all got involved in the offense with three kills apiece.
  • Set 3 | Lynn got off to a slow start in the third, but quickly rebounded and cruised to the three-set triumph. Another four aces helped expedite the process as the Fighting Knights improve to 2-1 in the conference.
STATS OF THE DAY:
  • Porto led her squad with 14 kills - one more than FIT's Kelly Germain – at an effective clip (.324) and chipped in five digs on defense. West and Angelich combined for 14 out of the middle as both hit over .350.
  • Llorens produced a solid all-around performance with five kills on a .556 hit percentage, two assists, two aces, a solo block and a team-high eight digs.
  • Marissa Tandron guided the offense with 33 helpers while she and Katie Knight tallied three service aces each.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
  • Lynn is 9-0 vs. Florida Tech at home over the past nine seasons.
  • The offense committed a season-low 10 attacking errors, leading to the team's best hitting percentage of the season (.333).
  • Defensively, the Fighting Knights posted up seven blocks, marking three straight matches with at least seven.
  • The Fighting Knights have played four matches in the past seven days.
