STATS OF THE GAME:

  • The incredibly physical game between two of the SSC's best saw plenty of action in the first half but no scoring. The best opportunity for either team came with just under two minutes remaining when great ball movement gave Lynn a fantastic look right in front of the net. However, Sinisa Sprecakovic's attempt was unable to make its way past Tampa's Adam Forster who made a brilliant save.
  • The teams went into the break with six shots between them, including two on goal from the Fighting Knights.
  • The second half started with numerous opportunities for both teams, and it was Tampa that was able to capitalize when Omar Thali was able to beat the Lynn defense and put one past Patrick Nettekoven in the 62nd minute.
  • The Fighting Knights battled for the rest of the game, and they had chances to even up the score, but Forster was able to turn away all of Lynn's chances.
  • Lynn ended the game with 12 shots and three on goal, but nothing on the scoreboard for the second consecutive contest.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:

  • All three of the Fighting Knights' losses this season have been to teams ranked in the top 25 nationally.
  • This loss drops Lynn to third in the SSC standings behind both PBA and Tampa.

UP NEXT:

The Fighting Knights will look to bounce back on Saturday, Oct. 23, when they return home to face Embry-Riddle at 6 p.m.
