Box Score Winter Haven, Florida - In their first match of the SSC vs. GSC South Region Crossover, the Lynn Fighting Knights extended their winning streak to six matches by taking down the Valdosta State Blazers 3-1.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
- The Fighting Knights were slow out of the gate, hitting just .171 in the first set. The tough start put Lynn behind by as many as seven in the set, and they were never able to get back even with the Blazers. The Fighting Knights would lose 25-19.
- The second set was an entirely different story. The Fighting Knights jumped out to an 8-2 lead, and they never once trailed in the entire set. As a team, they hit .469, converting on 18 of their 32 attacks and commiting just three errors. They would go on to win 25-17.
- In the third set, the Fighting Knights put together their most dominant performance since their 25-8 victory over Quincy in their third game of the season. Lynn blew the Blazers out by a final score of 25-9, and they hit .464 as a team. Nadia Lindner went a perfect seven for seven on kills.
- The final set of the night was a close affair, with the Blazers battling with Lynn all the way through. The teams were tied 18-18, but the Fighting Knights went on a 7-2 run at the end to put the game away and take the match 3-1.
- Overall, the Fighting Knights outhit the Blazers .331-.141, and they recorded 52 kills compared to 41.
- Lindner continued her phenomenal play, recording 20 kills and hitting .457, her second-best mark of the season. Sonja Udovcic had the second-most kills on the team with 11.
- Udovcic filled the stat sheet. In addition to her 11 kills, she posted 17 digs, four service aces, three assists and two blocks.
- The attackers were assisted by the duo of Emily Edwards and Adrianna Casados who recorded 21 and 20 assists, respectively.
- Lauren Odom posted eight kills, hitting .500 and failing to record a single error. She also led the Fighting Knights with five blocks.
- Ruth Zijlstra tied Udovcic for the most digs on the team with 17. She also recorded two service aces.
- Coming off the bench, Milica Kusmuk posted a hit percentage of .300, and she earned three block assists.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- The SSC vs GSC South Region Crossover serves as a way for the members of the two conferences to see where they stand against each other. With each team ranked by where they are currently sitting in the standings, they play teams seeded higher and lower than them from the opposing conference. They also play the team that is currently sitting in the same spot in the standings as them.
- The first day of the event was a great success for the Sunshine State Conference. They went a combined 11-4, with Flagler posting the 12th win over the GSC.
- The top four teams in the SSC went 3-1 on day one, while the top four teams from the GSC went 2-2.
UP NEXT:
The Fighting Knights will be busy tomnorrow and the competition will be stiff. They will begin the day with a 12:15 p.m. match against No. 10 West Florida, a team that has lost just one time this season. They will end the tournament with a 7 p.m. matchup against the current fourth-best team in the Gulf South Conference, Union.
