STATS OF THE GAME:
- After a hard-fought 20 minutes, Barry took the lead heading into the half by a score of 42-36.
- Leading the Fighting Knights in the first half was Christian Peevy. He put up 12 points and shot 4-4 from the free-throw line. He also added five rebounds.
- Behind Peevy was Brandon Bornelus with nine points and three assists. He shot 50% from three and 75% from the free-throw line.
- Servet Kurnaz led Lynn with eight rebounds in the half.
- In the second half, the Fighting Knights fought back, tying the game at 58-58, but the Bucs were able to score more later as they sealed the six-point victory.
- Peevy played one of his best halves of the season and was a key factor in the Fighting Knights hanging around. He amassed 19 points in 19 minutes and recorded four rebounds and three steals.
- Behind him again was Bornelus with eight points and two assists.
- Cameron Gaines led the Fighting Knights in their effort with 10 rebounds. Behind him were Peevy and Kurnaz with nine and eight, respectively.
- The Fighting Knights shot 39.1% as a team, just behind Barry's 41.2%.
- Lynn continues to excel from the free-throw line, besting Barry 85% to 67.9%.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
- Peevy finished the game with a conference and season-high 31 points, which brings him to second in the SSC in points per game (21.3).
- Gaines' 10 rebounds in tonight's game helped tie him for fourth in the SSC in rebounds per game (8.8).
- Bornelus and Peevy combined for 13-15 on free throws tonight, and they are currently the top two in the SSC in free throw percentage%.
- The South region's No. 5 Fighting Knights and No. 4 Bucs will meet for a rematch on January 26 in Boca Raton.
