Box Score Boca Raton, Florida – The Fighting Knights played their first home game since Dec. 15 on Wednesday night, and despite taking a lead in the second half, they were unable to keep pace with the Eagles.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Fighting Knights struggled to get going early, with Embry-Riddle building a 21-12 lead just before the midway point of the first half. The lead would grow to as many as 10, but the Fighting Knights chipped away for the remainder of the period and cut the lead to just five heading into the break.
- Ibrahima Sankare led the Fighting Knights with 11 points on 5-6 shooting in the first half. He was closely followed by Brandon Bornelus who scored nine.
- The Fighting Knights came out red hot in the second half, and they rattled off a 12-5 run to take a 48-47 lead, their first of the entire game.
- However, from that point forward, it was all Embry-Riddle. The Eagles held Lynn to just 14 points over the final 17:40 of the game, as they were able to run away from Lynn for 84-62 victory.
- Bornelus led the way with 17 points, while Sankare and Servet Kurnaz each scored 13. They were the only three players to score in double-digits for the Fighting Knights. In addition to his scoring performance, Bornelus dished out five assists.
- Sankare and Christian Peevy each recorded two blocks in the loss.
- The Fighting Knights were outrebounded by just a small margin (37-34) and they recorded just nine turnovers in the game.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- In the loss, Bornelus moved into 10th in Lynn history in career points. The 17-point performance brought his career total to 1,047, and he passed Demetris Montgomery '97, who recorded 1,045 as a Fighting Knight. Bornelus is currently 16 points behind Hans Schur '08 for ninth all-time.
UP NEXT:
The Fighting Knights will take to the road to face Eckerd on Sat. Jan. 22 at 4 p.m. This will be the second time these two teams are meeting this season. They each opened conference play in Nov. with Lynn earning the 89-58 win.
