Fighting Knights defeat Barry in a shootout 86-79

STATS OF THE GAME:

  • The Fighting Knights started the game on fire. Lynn shot the ball over 50% in the first half, led by Dani Lozzi with eight points, three rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block.
  • Even after the hot shooting by the Fighting Knights they still found themselves down 40-33 at halftime.
  • The third quarter was fast-paced, with both teams looking to grab momentum heading into the fourth quarter. Lynn used the third quarter to take their first lead of the game 55-54 with 18 seconds left.
  • The first five minutes of the fourth quarter was a back and forth affair. Lynn seized control of the game with a Loie Webb three that put them up 67-63 with 6:06 left in the game.
  • The Fighting Knights outscored Barry in the second half by 14 points led by Webb, Uloma Enyogasi, Rachel Romich, Kelsi Fizer, and Trinity Edwards.
  • Loie Webb iced the game with two made free throws with seven seconds left.
  • The Fighting Knights put together a total team effort, on both ends of the floor to take down Barry 86-79.
  • Every Fighting Knight that checked into the game tonight scored four or more points, which is the first time that has happened this season.
  • Webb led the team in scoring with a career-high 21 points, while also dishing out four assists. Right behind her was Romich with 14 points, while also recording 2 steals for the game.
  • In addition to Romich and Webb, three other Fighting Knights scored in double figures, Trinity Edwards (11), Kelsi Fizer (11), and Uloma Enyogasi (11).
  • The Fighting Knights continued their dominance on the defensive side of the ball, holding Barry to 39% shooting from the field. Along with the stellar team defense, five Lynn players recorded at least 1 steal. Enyogasi and Edwards controlled the paint, recording 4 of the six total blocks for the Fighting Knights.

  • Barry is ranked third in the SSC behind Tampa and Eckerd.
