BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University women's soccer team lost a close contest 1-0 to visiting Embry-Riddle on Saturday night on Parents' Weekend from Bobby Campbell Stadium. With the loss, the Fighting Knights drop to 4-7, 2-5 in the Sunshine State Conference, while the Eagles maintained their undefeated record, improving to 9-0-4, 4-0-4 in the SSC. The loss was also the fourth home defeat on the year for Lynn.
The Fighting Knights played a strong game defensively, but could not muster enough offense against an Eagle team that played solid defense, keeping the Fighting Knights out of their end.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Embry-Riddle's Saba Amiri scored the only goal of the contest (23:38) with a strike past a diving Hannah Harbich-Kuster. The goal, Amiri's fourth of the season, was one of two shots for her on the night.
- Lynn was outshot 14-5 in the game, including 5-1 in the first half.
- Three Fighting Knight shots came off the foot of junior midfielder Brigitta Pulins. Her 13 shots on the season are the fourth-most on the team.
- The Eagles' Marie Myrvold Seim led her squad in shots with five, while also registering one assist.
- Standout Lynn forward Anniina Sankoh, the Fighting Knights' shot leader on the season (20), played well in attack mode, registering one on the night. Senior midfielder Addison Crone also tallied one shot.
- Embry-Riddle's Savanna Sheahan registered four shots, with one coming on-goal, and one assist. Midfielder Isabelle Navren managed three shots, with two on-goal.
- Harbich-Kuster saved four shots, giving her 29 for the season. She ranks sixth in the conference in the category.
- Lynn's Talorie Crafton (24:59) and the Eagles' Inga Agustsdottir (73:19) both received yellow cards.
