BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University men's soccer team lost to Tampa, 2-0, in the quarterfinals of the 2022 Sunshine State Conference Tournament, Monday night at Bobby Campbell Stadium.

The Fighting Knights sit at 6-4-5 overall on the season and now await a possible bid to the NCAA Tournament. The loss is the first for Lynn since mid-September and ends a five-match winning streak.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Both of Tampa's goals came in the second half after a scoreless opening stanza from both sides
- Juancho Fernandez scored in the 65th and 72nd minutes to carry the Spartans (7-6-3) to the win
- Lynn outshot Tampa 6-5, but the hosts had just one shot on net when junior Thijs Kranenburg had his attempt saved at 59:08 by keeper Adam Forster
- Junior Marco Costa led the Fighting Knights with two shots, while Kranenburg, graduate Ali Koller, senior Michael Knoetzinger and junior Roman Hartleb each had one
