BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University men's soccer team lost to Tampa, 2-0, in the quarterfinals of the 2022 Sunshine State Conference Tournament, Monday night at Bobby Campbell Stadium.
The Fighting Knights sit at 6-4-5 overall on the season and now await a possible bid to the NCAA Tournament. The loss is the first for Lynn since mid-September and ends a five-match winning streak.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Both of Tampa's goals came in the second half after a scoreless opening stanza from both sides
- Juancho Fernandez scored in the 65
th and 72
nd minutes to carry the Spartans (7-6-3) to the win
- Lynn outshot Tampa 6-5, but the hosts had just one shot on net when junior
Thijs Kranenburg had his attempt saved at 59:08 by keeper Adam Forster
- Junior
Marco Costa led the Fighting Knights with two shots, while Kranenburg, graduate

Luca Clavero allowed both goals and suffered his first loss of the season. He finished the season with a 6-1-2 record in net with four shutouts
