BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University men's and women's swimming teams posted seven wins in a dual meet with nationally-ranked Nova Southeastern, Saturday at the McCusker Pool Complex.
The Fighting Knight women posted five wins in a 149-94 loss to the Sharks, while the men earned two victories and lost 170.5-72.5.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Graduate student
Helga Fodor and
Kamil Piotrowicz each posted two individual wins on the day
- Fodor won both the 50 (24.50) and 100 freestyle (53.01), while Piotrowicz won the 50 (26.15) and 100 breaststroke (57.91)
- Fodor added second place in the 50 backstroke (27:57) and Piotrowicz finished in fourth place in the 100 IM (54.92)
- Fodor added a win in the 200 medley relay as she helped graduate student

Luna Mertins to first place in 1:46.20
- Piotrowicz joined junior

Dalton Brown for runner-up in the 200 medley relay in 1:37.28
- Mertins captured a win in the 50 butterfly in 25.94, posted second place in the 100 butterfly (57.12) and fourth in the 100 IM (1:01.06)
- Smylek collected a win for the Fighting Knight women in the 100 backstroke in 59.29. She was third in the 50 butterfly (27.35)
- Junior
Kynda Green finished runner-up in the 200 freestyle in 1:59.83
- The 400 freestyle relay team of Green, sophomore
Mathilde Bartolini, junior
Olivia Flack and sophomore
Justine Answeeney were second in 3:42.36

- Porta added a pair of third-place finishes in the 50 (30.98) and 100 breaststroke (1:07.43)
- Brown and sophomore
Owen Pogwist added a pair of second-place efforts for the men's side. Brown was second in the 50 freestyle (22.46) and Pogwist was second in the 100 butterfly (56.41)
- Brown also helped the 400 freestyle relay team of senior

Ignacio Alvarez and freshman
Spencer Hobbs to second place in 3:16.04
- Alvarez took third place in both the 50 (27.70) and 100 breaststroke (1:01.56)
- Sickels finished in third in the 50 backstroke (26.44), Hobbs was third in the 50 freestyle (22.85) and sophomore
Alexander Flanagan was third in the 100 butterfly (56.41)
