LAKELAND, Fla. – Freshman Jamel Lane tied a career-high with 30 points as Lynn University lost to No. 22 Florida Southern 95-79, Thursday.
The loss drops the Fighting Knights to 2-8 overall and 0-5 in the Sunshine State Conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Fighting Knight shots 30-of-65 (46.2%) from the field, but were just 6-of-23 (26.1%) on three-pointers
- FSC shot 48.3 percent (28-of-58) from the floor and connected on 13-of-26 (50%) three-pointers
- The Moccasins had six players finish in double figures, including all five starters
- Lynn collected an early 10-0 run to rally from a nine-point deficit for a 14-13 cushion with 13:58 showing

Esteban Lluberes hit a three-pointer and Lane capped the run with a jumper
- Florida Southern posted a 12-0 run over the next four minutes to lead 29-17
- Lluberes helped Lynn cut the deficit to four, 40-36 at the half with a three-pointer and layup for the final two baskets of the half
- The Fighting Knights cut the deficit to two points early in the second half before a pair of three-pointers from the Moccasins pushed their lead back to 12, 57-45 at 14:04
- Lynn posted one final run as a layup from freshman
Nordin Kapic and a three-pointer from junior
Jamison Evans cut the deficit to six, 69-63 with 9:18 to play
- A quick 6-0 run over a 27 second stretch gave Florida Southern a 78-65 lead
- The hosts kept their lead above 10 the rest of the game and pushed it to 16 at the final horn, 95-79
