Fighting Knights lose road contest to PBA

Boca Raton, Florida – The Fighting Knights trailed for nearly the entire game, as they fell to the Sailfish 84-77.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Fighting Knights scored the first points of the game to take a 3-0 lead. However, PBA would quickly tie it up, and Lynn never led for the rest of the game.
  • In the first half, the lead for the Sailfish grew to as many as 13, and they went into the halftime locker room with a 41-28 advantage.
  • In the second half, the Sailfish extended their lead to 14, before the Fighting Knights went on a 13-2 run to cut the lead to just three. That was the closest the game would ever get. PBA answered with a 10-0 run to regain a 13-point advantage, and they played nearly the entire remainder of the game with a double-digit lead.
  • Lynn would go on a run late and cut the deficit to three with 23 seconds remaining, but it wasn't enough. They would ultimately lose 84-77.
  • It was a three-man show offensively for Lynn, as Brandon Bornelus (20), Christian Peevy (19) and Jamison Evans (18) combined for 57 of the 77 points. Evans and Bornelus each hit four three-pointers in the game.
  • Ibrahima Sankare had seven rebounds to lead Lynn, but the Fighting Knights were beaten badly on the boards, 39-26.
  • The Fighting Knights made 45.9% of their shots on the day, while they allowed PBA to shoot 58.5% for the game.
