HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Fighting Knights struggled right from the opening tip, giving up the first 11 points of the game to the Lions. Lynn would play nearly the entire half down by double-digits, but they managed to go on a run at the end of the period to enter the halftime locker room down 43-36.
- With 11:58 remaining in the game, Jamison Evans made a jumper to cut the lead to six. The Lions answered, then Ibrahima Sankare got the deficit back to six on the very next possession. However, that would be the closest the game would get. Saint Leo would stretch their lead to as many as 22 late in the second half, before coming away with the 20-point win.
- Evans led the way with 13 points for the Fighting Knights. He was one of four players for Lynn to score in double figures. The others were Servet Kurnaz, Cameron Gaines and Brandon Bornelus, each of whom scored 12. Bornelus played all 40 minutes of the game.
- Gaines was one rebound shy of finishing with a double-double, as he recorded nine for the game.
- Despite the score, Lynn was just about even with the Lions in numerous categories, including rebounding, turnovers, steals and free throw percentage. However, the Lions shot the ball much better from the floor than the Fighting Knights did. Siant Leo was 50.8% from the floor and 39.1% from deep, while the Fighting Knights had a field goal percentage of just 35.4% and a three-point percentage of 26.9%.
