LAKELAND, Fla. – Senior
Michael Knoetzinger scored a late goal to carry the Lynn University men's soccer team to a 1-0 win over Florida Southern, Saturday night.
The victory is the first of the season for the Fighting Knights as they improve to 1-3-3 and 1-2-0 in the SSC.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Knoetzinger's goal came on the 13
th shot of the evening for the Fighting Knights
- A foul was called on the Mocs at 80:17 and Lynn was awarded a PK
- Knoetzinger buried the shot for the 1-0 lead and it was his second goal of the season
- Lynn had a chance to add to its lead in the 88
th minute but senior
Raul Varela Hernandez had his shot turned away by keeper AJ Pearce
- Knoetzinger led the Fighting Knights with four shots, while junior
Roman Hartleb contributed three
- Lynn starting keeper
Luca Clavero picked up the win in goal and stopped two shots
- The Fighting Knights outshot the Mocs 14-10
