Men’s soccer draws with Lander in thriller

BACON RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University men's soccer team scored three goals in the final 3:40 to rally for a 3-3 draw with Lander in a thrilling match at Bobby Campbell Stadium, Sunday.
 
Graduate student David Bauer had a hand in all three Lynn goals on the afternoon as it pushed its overall record this season to 0-1-3.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The second half of play featured all of the action following a first half that had five total shots between the teams
- Lander attempted the first seven shots of the second period and those attempts resulted in three goals
- The Bearcats' Kevin Rubaszewski scored at 52:57 and again at 61:15 as the visitors led 2-0
- Just under four minutes later and Lander increased its lead to 3-0 when Marco Gueli scored at 64:50
- The Fighting Knights turned up the pressure from there as they attempted seven shots over the final 20 minutes of action and found the net three times after falling behind by three goals
- Patrick O'Halloran struck first for the Fighting Knights with his first goal of the season coming at 86:20 off a feed from Bauer
- Bauer scored Lynn's second goal at 87:12 as he connected on a shot for his first goal of the season that narrowed the gap to just 3-2 … Graduate student Moritz Lusch had the assist
- The final goal of the afternoon came with 30 seconds left as graduate student Thijs Kranenburg crossed a ball to Bauer who maneuvered around Lander keeper Keanu Ridgill and buried his shot in the lower right corner of the net that completed Lynn's comeback
- Lynn was outshot by Lander 11-9, but the Fighting Knights put seven of their nine shots on goal
- Graduate student Patrick Nettekoven made four saves in just under 70 minutes of action as freshman Luca Clavero played the final 20:51

Lynn returns to the pitch next Saturday as it hosts Rollins for its Sunshine State Conference opener at 6:00 pm.
