SAINT LEO, Fla. - The No. 16 Lynn men's soccer team went on the road and defeated Saint Leo, 1-0, Saturday night. The lone goal of the contest came at 66:55 by graduate student Luis Kiefer. Lynn put five shots on net while Saint Leo was held without a shot on goal. Lynn is 7-1-3 overall and 2-1-3 in the SSC.Ā
HOW IT HAPPENED:Ā
- The Fighting Knights held possession time early and attempted the only two shots of the first halfĀ
- Graduate student Ali Koller and senior Patrick O'Halloran each posted shots in the first frameĀ
- Lynn and Saint Leo traded shots at 46:19 and 46:47 as the pace immediately picked up in the second halfĀ
- Saint Leo made two runs in the 53rd and 56th minute that produced shotsĀ
- Senior Roman Hartleb put a shot on goal that was saved by the Saint Leo goalieĀ
- Kiefer found the rebound and put it in the back of the net at 66:55 for the Lynn goalĀ
- The Fighting Knights once again dominated possession for the last 20 minutes, attempting the final eight shots of the matchĀ
- Sophomore Luca Clavero posted his seventh shutout of 2023 and lowered his GA/AVG to 0.42
- Lynn outshot (13-5) Saint Leo while having a 6-1 edge in corner kicks
- O'Halloran led all players with three shots, while Kiefer, Hartleb and graduate student Ricardo Packer Jr. each had two shotsĀ
- Lynn has outscored their opponents 17-4 this season
- The Fighting Knights held Saint Leo to just five shots, the fewest Lynn has allowed in a match this year
