Lynn drops season finale to Tampa

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University women's soccer team dropped its matchup on Tuesday evening, losing to Tampa, 1-0. The Fighting Knights were led by a 4-shot performance from Brigitta Pulins and a 3-shot effort from K'La Barnes-Blackwood in the Sunshine State Conference loss. With the loss, Lynn finishes the 2023 season 7-9-1 with a 3-7 record in conference play.

Hannah Harbich-Kuster, Isabelle Nystrom, Brigitta Pulins, Evegania Tsolakis, Matilda Larsson, Evelin Dapprich, Crystal Ayn Hagberg, Gabriella Lecuona, Sophia Hontzas, Alex Cardona and Vanessa Rodriguez have played their final match as a Fighting Knight. Congratulations on great careers!

- Tampa got out to a strong start, taking the lead in the 4th minute on a goal from McElhone
- In the 5th minute, Pulins put a shot on frame, but it was saved by Tampa's Smith
- Lynn keeper Brooke Auth saved her first shot of the game in the 11th minute
- Barnes-Blackwood, Kayla Bradby and Nystrom took shots, but none reached the back of the net
- Auth saved a pair of shots in the 14th and 26th minutes, respectively
- Isabella Battista recorded Lynn's second shot on frame, but Smith saved the shot to keep Tampa ahead 1-0 at the break
- Brisa Sastre and Barnes-Blackwood opened the second half with a shot each
- Auth recorded her 3rd save of the match in the 63rd minute
- Pulins had a free kick in the 70th minute, but it was blocked by Tampa's wall
- Lynn kept the pressure on down the stretch, with Barnes-Blackwood putting a shot on frame in the 90th minute, securing a 1-0 loss for the Fighting Knights
