BOCA RATON, Fla. – Five different Fighting Knights scored in double figures as Lynn outpaced Lake Superior State, 92-71, Friday evening. Lynn's 92 points were the most it has scored in a game since a 97-96 3OT win over Florida Southern on 2/13/2010.
The Fighting Knights are now 5-3 overall in 2023-24.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After exchanging a pair of baskets to open the game, a
Danielle Montelbano jumper and
Makayla Hemingway three gave Lynn a 9-4 lead three minutes in
- The Lakers followed with an 11-2 run to take a four-point lead
- Threes by
Rachel Romich and
Marianna Klavina helped the Fighting Knights hold a 21-20 edge after one quarter
- Led by four points from
Carly Stroemel, the Fighting Knights jumped out to a 34-24 lead with 5:34 left in the first half
- Hemingway knocked down two more three-pointers as Lynn exploded for 27 points in the second quarter on 55.6% shooting
- Romich scored five consecutive points early in the third quarter to jolt Lynn's lead to 59-41
- Montelbano followed a steal with a three-pointer to increase Lynn's lead to 18 with 4:19 left in the third quarter
- A Klavina three and
Alana Francis layup gave the Fighting Knights their largest lead of the game at 21
- Lynn took a 69-57 lead into the final frame
- Five points from Stroemel and three from Montelbano quickly pushed Lynn's lead to 20, 77-57, less than two minutes into the fourth quarter
- Lynn led by as much as 23 and closed out a 92-71 victory
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Montelbano led all players with 17 points and 6 assists
- Romich added a season-high 16 points and 5 assists
- Stroemel scored a season-high 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting
- Hemingway made four three-pointers and her 2.3 three-pointers per game rank first in the SSC while her 50% (18-36) three-point field goal percentage ranks second

Ella Fiore led all players with 4 blocks, 3 steals and tied Hemingway with 8 rebounds
- Fiore ranks fourth in the SSC in blocks per game (1.4), rebounds per game (7.1), field goal percentage (53.2%) and is tied for eighth in steals per game (2.0)

Trinity Mocadlo scored 11 points – her fifth game this season scoring in double figures
- Lynn's 48 first half points were its most in a first half since scoring 49 points in the opening two quarters on 1/25/2020 against Embry-Riddle
- Lynn shot 60% (31-52) from the field and 53% (10-19) from three-point range
- The Fighting Knights rank second in the country in three-point percentage at 41.4%
