BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University men's and women's swimming teams ended the 2023 portion of their schedules as both Fighting Knight squads earned wins over visiting Barry, Tuesday. The Lynn women defeated the Buccaneers 144-23, while the men earned a 123-45 victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Women):
- The 200 medley relay team of
Caterina Momi,
Claudia Porta,
Amy Evans, and
Olivia Flack posted a win in 1:51.54, while teammates
Sasha Giourtzidou,
Lexi Lundell,
Katie Laferriere, and
Jade Chamblee posted second place in 1:53.76

Shachaf Bachar won both the 500 freestyle (5:17.14) and 1,000 freestyle (10:57.82) as
Julia Delaney earned second in both (5:30.17 and 10:57.83).
Olivia Sherlock was also in the mix, finishing in fourth (12:05.73) in the 1,000

Malaika Schneider posted two individual wins in the 200 freestyle (1:57.10) and 100 freestyle (53.94)

Sophie Fredman earned second in the 200 freestyle (2:04.39), scoring four points to help the Fighting Knights
- Giourtzidou took home the win in the 200 IM (2:12.56), with Lundell took third (2:16.60) and
Zoey Delaney was fourth (2:26.28)
- Fighting Knights went 1-2-3 in the 50 freestyle, 100 fly, 100 freestyle, and 100 backstroke events
- In the 50 freestyle,
Laura Dekoninck (23.76) took first,
Caroline Maley (28.66) was second and
Cecilia Diaz (29.63) was third
- In the 100 fly: Evans won with a time of 1:00.43, Porta was runner-up (1:02.79) and Laferriere captured third (1:03.43)
- Schneider took the 100 freestyle crown (53.94), Chamblee finished second (57.56), while
Alexa Proctor was third (58.36)
- Dekoninck took the title in the 100 backstroke in 57.99, Momi touched in second place in 59.56 and
Alexis Mihok was third at 1:04.21
- In the 500 freestyle, Flack was third (5:32.38) and Fredman was fourth (5:35.70)
- Finishing off the individual events, Porta earned third (1:07.59) and Giourtzidou took fourth (1:11.34) in the 100 breaststroke
- The 200 freestyle relay finished 1-2 to finish off the meet. Schneider, Laferriere, Flack, and Dekoninck (1:39.95) took the win, while Bachar, Chamblee, Mihok, and Fredman (1:43.49) were second

- Masmoudi took first in the 200 freestyle (1:46.55) and second in the 100 fly (51.82)
- In the 200 free, Zasas earned third (1:49.53), Allen was fourth (1:51.06) and Shayka earned fifth in 1:51.32
- The Fighting Knights went 1-2-3 in the 50 freestyle, 500 freestyle and 100 breaststroke.

Spencer Hobbs led the 50 free with a win in 22.32, while Fiola was second (22.40) and Budd (22.42) took third

Conor Dunne won the 500 freestyle in 4:49.33, Shayka was second (5:02.52) and Kayadjanian was third (5:07.57)
- Piotrowicz (57.47) won the 100 breaststroke, while Zasas (58.33) was second and
Russell Hart (1:00.44) finished in third place
- A tie occurred for fourth place in the 100 breast with Cirame and Barry's Jerry Avila with a time of 1:03.85
- Tsyfarov posted a win in the 200 IM (1:59.17) and the 100 freestyle (46.68)

Lincoln Greseth earned second (2:00.72) in the 200 IM.
- In the 100 free, Piotrowicz took third (48.87), Hobbs fourth (49.00), Downey fifth (51.50) and
Luke Slabe seventh (1:03.63)
- Sickels led the Fighting Knights in the 100 backstroke with second place in 56.76. Gagon took third (58.73) and Allen fourth (1:03.76)
- In the final event, the 200 freestyle relays took 1-2-3. Budd, Hobbs, Fiola, and Sickels took the win at 1:28.60, while
Conor Dunne, Pogwist, Romeo, and Greseth were second at 1:34.62. Alvarez,
Cam Dunne, Kayadjanian and DeGraw added third place at 1:34.63.
