BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Fighting Knights winning streak ended at three games after losing to Washburn, 18-3, Monday. The loss drops Lynn to 4-2-1 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Washburn scored two runs in each of the first two innings to go up 4-0 early
- The Ichobod's made it 5-0 on a Blake Scott solo home run in the top of the fourth inning
- Peter Avino and Ryan Ford scored on a Cristian Otero base-hit to make it a 5-2 game
- Shawn Dougherty scored after Leon Paulino roped an RBI double to cut the Washburn lead to two runs in the bottom of the fifth
- Led by a Trey Adams two-run triple, Washburn scored five runs in the top of the sixth to take a 10-3 lead
- The Ichobod's continued to tack on runs, as Andrew Paulsey hit a two-run double in the eighth and ninth innings and later pitched a scoreless bottom of the ninth for an 18-3 final score
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Dougherty posted his third multi-hit game of the season, raising his average to .323
- AJ Orrico went 1-for-2 with two walks, raising his season average to .357 and on-base percentage to .500
- Ryan Ford extended his hitting streak to six games and is 9-for-22 over that span (.409 BA)
- Peter Avino extended his hitting streak to five games and is 8-for-23 over that span (.348 BA)
- John Rodriguez poked a sixth inning triple for his third extra-base hit of the year (2 HR, 1 3B)
