MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Lynn University women's basketball team has captured the third seed in the 2023 Sunshine State Conference Tournament that starts on Tuesday, Feb. 28. The Fighting Knights are having a record setting year and their season continues when they host sixth-seeded Barry at 7:00 pm.
Lynn enters the tournament with a 21-7 overall record having won their last seven games and Lynn is 10-3 at home this season.
The Fighting Knights swept Barry during the regular-season with an 82-74 victory in mid-January and a 73-52 win at Barry on Feb. 8.

Ella Fiore lead the Fighting Knights in scoring at 14.7 and 13.1 points per game, respectively. Fiore is third in the SSC in field goal percentage (59.0%), while Marone in sixth in the league in scoring. The duo have combined for 118 steals, the second highest total in the league behind the Saint Leo tandem of Kiki McIntyre and Amanda Ulrich, who have 127.
Tampa earned the tournament's top seed (27-1), while Eckerd (23-4) is the No. 2 seed. Following Tuesday's quarterfinal round, the tournament semifinals will be held on Thursday, March 2nd, and the championship final will be played Sunday, March 5th. The SSC champion will receive automatic qualification to the 2023 NCAA Division II Championships.
