BALTIMORE, Md. – The No. 12 Pace men's lacrosse team defeated Lynn University last Saturday at historic Homewood Field on the campus of Johns Hopkins University. The loss ends the Fighting Knights two-game winning streak as they settle at 5-4 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Pace jumped out a 7-4 cushion at halftime and outscored Lynn 5-2 in the second half
- The Fighting Knights trailed 6-1 midway through the second quarter before two goals from senior
Jalen Stanton and one from graduate student
Stephen Becker trimmed the deficit to 7-4 at intermission
- Senior
Thomas Murray scored late in the third quarter to bring Lynn to within three at 8-5
- The Setters then used a 4-0 scoring run to lead 12-5 with 6:28 left in the game
- Stanton scored a man-up goal with 11 seconds left to trim the final to 12-6
- Pace outshot Lynn, 24-18, but the Fighting Knights won 10-of-19 faceoffs and finished 21-of-23 on clears
