MELBOURNE, Fla. – Senior
Jalen Stanton scored with eight seconds left in the fourth quarter to send the Lynn University men's lacrosse matchup with Florida Southern into overtime before the Panthers grabbed a 13-12 win in extra time, Saturday. Lynn falls to 5-6 overall on the season and 0-2 in the SSC.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Stanton's third and final goal of the afternoon came with eight seconds left in regulation that knotted the game at 12
- The Panthers won the faceoff to begin overtime and Zach Rozgonyi scored 1:14 into the extra frame to give the hosts the 13-12 win
- Despite the loss, Lynn outshot Florida Tech 40-34, led 26-24 in ground balls and won 14-of-27 faceoffs
- The Fighting Knights outscored the Panthers 7-4 after halftime, but couldn't completely dig themselves out of a 9-5 halftime deficit
- Lynn never led in the game, but tied the score three times in the fourth quarter

Connor Houston scored back-to-back goals in the fourth (13:09 and 11:53) and the second tied the game at 10

- Florida Tech scored with 2:21 showing to grab a 12-11 advantage until Stanton's late tally sent the contest in overtime
- The Panthers tried to run away with the game in the first half, building an 8-2 lead with just 3:44 left in the first half
- Lynn answered with three late goals to pull to within 9-5 at intermission. Senior

Thomas Murray found the net with 40 seconds left and Houston scored just before the half
- The Fighting Knights used a 3-0 scoring run late in the third and early in the fourth to pull to within 9-8 before Houston later tied it at 10
