BRADENTON, Fla. – The 17
th-ranked Lynn University men's tennis team suffered a 4-3 loss to 29
th-ranked Embry-Riddle, 4-3, in the opening round of the Sunshine State Conference Tournament, Thursday. The Fighting Knights are now 12-8 overall on the spring.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Eagles grabbed a quick one-point lead after winning both No. 2 and No. 3 doubles
- In the top flight,
Haktan Garayev and
Ray Chavez were up 6-5 over the 20
th-ranked team of Alexis Guedy and Luke Paschal, but the match went unfinished after the Eagles won the other two doubles matches
- Lynn won the second, third and sixth singles flights, but Embry-Riddle won the decisive fifth flight to advance to the tournament semifinals
- Sophomore
Gabriele Felline breezed past Michele Iftimie in the second flight, 6-3, 6-0
- Felline is 7-6 on the spring in the second flight
- Freshman
Yaron Guberman posted a 6-4, 6-1 win over Fernando Alonso at No. 3 singles
- He is 13-5 in singles play this spring and is 11-5 in the third flight
- Garayev also posted a straight set win at No. 6 singles with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Paschal
- Garayev is 10-7 on the season and all 10 wins have come at No. 6 singles
