BOCA RATON, Fla. – Drew Dwyer tossed six shutout, no-hit innings in Lynn's 2-1 win over Nova Southeastern on Sunday afternoon. Byron Murray hit a game-winning solo home run in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Fighting Knights improved to 16-24-1 in 2023.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Starting pitcher Drew Dwyer recorded five strikeouts in the first three innings, including two each in the second and third inning
- Dwyer added five more strikeouts and carried his no-hit bid through six innings before leaving the game after throwing 78 pitches
- Ryan Ford doubled in the fifth inning for the first hit by either team
- Leon Paulino and David Judge hit back-to-back two-out doubles to put the Fighting Knights ahead, 1-0, in the bottom of the sixth inning
- The Sharks tied the game in the top of the eighth inning on Ihosvany Castaneda's RBI single
- Byron Murray's solo home run in the bottom of the eighth inning broke the tie and gave the Fighting Knights a 2-1 lead
- With a runner in scoring position and two outs, relief pitcher Chase Wills got the Sharks to fly out to end the game

- Dwyer's pitching line: 6 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 10 SO
- Dwyer now has four 10+ strikeout games, owns an 11.5 K/9 rate this season and lowered his season ERA to 2.32
- Wills' pitching line: 3 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 1 SO
- Wills lowered his season ERA to 3.43 and has allowed more than one run in just one of his 13 appearances
- Murray ranks second in the Sunshine State Conference with 12 home runs this season

- Paulino has hit safely in 14 of his last 15 games and is batting .315 in 2023
