BOCA RATON, Fla. - Starting pitcher Eric Heatter pitched seven innings without allowing an earned run in Lynn's final game of the 2023 regular season on Saturday afternoon. The Fighting Knights lost game one of their doubleheader with Eckerd, 3-10, but prevailed behind Heatter's outing and Yuzuki Okamura's four RBI in game two, 7-1.  

Heatter and Okamura were two of nine student-athletes honored on Senior Day, as the team also celebrated Drew Dwyer, JP Perez, Tyler Romanias, Chris Mormile, Oscar Benitez, Sam Kagan and Pedro Martinez.  

With the doubleheader split, Lynn's record this season concludes at 17-29-1.  

HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 1): 
- Senior starting pitcher Chris Mormile gave up two runs (one earned) over four innings 
- Senior Sam Kagan tossed a scoreless fifth inning 
- Eckerd rallied for seven hits and five runs in the sixth to take a 7-0 lead 
- Senior Pedro Martinez drove home Ryan Ford and David Judge with a base hit in the bottom of the sixth 
- A homer and RBI double in the top of the seventh put the Tritons up by seven again 
- AJ Orrico walked and later scored to cut Eckerd's lead to 9-3 
- An Eckerd sac fly in the eighth was the final run of the game  

FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS (Game 1): 
- Ford went 2-for-3 with a double, walk and run scored 
- Benitez and Judge also doubled 
- Martinez posted his second multi-RBI game of the season 
- The Fighting Knights drew six walks and two hit-by-pitches  

HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 2): 
- Starting pitcher Eric Heatter held Eckerd scoreless over the first three innings, including striking out two in a 1-2-3 the top of the second  
- Orrico hit a two-out single in the third inning and scored on Leon Paulino's base hit for the first run of the game 
- The Tritons scored an unearned run in the top of the fourth to tie the game at one 
- Ford led off the bottom of the fourth inning with a home run to give Lynn a 2-1 lead 
- Yuzuki Okamura broke the game open in the bottom of the fifth inning with a three-run home run to make the score 5-1 
- Cristian Otero led off the bottom of the eighth inning with a single and later scored on another Paulino single 
- Okamura collected another RBI with a single to put the Fighting Knights ahead, 7-1 
- Senior relief pitcher JP Perez tossed a scoreless ninth inning 

FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS (Game 2): 
- Heatter's pitching line: 7 IP, 7 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 3 SO 
- Four different Fighting Knights posted multiple hits 
- Okamura tallied his second 4-RBI game of 2023 (also 3/13 vs. Adelphi) 
- Paulino went 3-for-4 with a walk and two RBI to finish the season with a .321 AVG 
- Ford went 2-for-4 with a home run and two steals 
- Orrico scored three times to bring his season run total to 54 
- Byron Murray walked three times to finish second in the SSC with 45 walks and his .441 OB% tied Orrico for the team lead 
- Nathan Shane struck out two batters in a scoreless eighth inning 
- Lynn drew six walks and two hit-by-pitches for the second straight game 
- The Fighting Knights hit multiple home runs in a game for the 13th time in 2023
