BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University women's cross country team opened the 2023 season with 10^th place at the FAU Invitational at South County Regional Park, Friday evening. Lynn finished in 10th place of 18 teams that competed on the 5k course.
 
The Fighting Knights finished with a score of 282, just eight points behind ninth place Daytona State College and nine points ahead of 11^th place Eastern Florida.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Senior Blair Vignes paced the Fighting Knights with 21^st place in 19:09.1
- Vignes dropped her time from last year on the course by 35.7 seconds and improved by four places
- Junior Brooke Mullins finished in 56^th place in 20:36.7
- Junior Lily Koch posted 74^th in 20:59.9
- Freshman Tanya Pach led Lynn's five newcomers on the '23 roster with 100^th place in 22:02.3
- Sophomore Nina Szklany took 115^th and improved her time by a full second from a year ago and finished with a 22:45.4
- Freshman Angelina Howard was 122^nd in 23:10.3
- Freshman Davyn Dreibelbis captured 128^th place in 23:48.2
- Freshman Mia Gagilardi finished in 133^rd in 23:53.6
- Sophomore Brooke Bond was 156^th in 26:28.7
