MELBOURNE, Fla. – Lynn University used some impressive statistical numbers and numerous career highs on Saturday afternoon for a 3-1 win over Florida Tech. The win pushed the Fighting Knights to 10-4 on the season, including a 4-2 mark in the Sunshine State Conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn smacked 39 kills in the first two sets and hit .381 and .341, respectively
- After hitting .157 in the third set, the Fighting Knights smacked 17 kills and hit .256 in the fourth and final set
- Lynn held advantages in kills (71-42), assists (68-42) and digs (95-78)
- Lynn never trailed in either of the first two sets

Samantha Wolf and
Dayana Chara handed the visitors an 11-5 lead in set one
- A 4-0 run extended the lead to 16-7 and another 4-0 spurt increased the advantage to 20-9

Kenidy Howard and
Paige Barash sealed a 25-21 win
- A quick 5-1 run gave the Fighting Knights an 8-4 edge in set two
- Chara paced an 11-2 run in the middle of the set with four kills as Lynn grabbed a 21-12 lead
- Junior Maria Cecilia-Pinho posted a kill to give the Fighting Knight a 25-15 win in game two

Aline Olegario each smacked two kills as Lynn rebounded from an early deficit to pull to within 15-14 in set three
- Florida Tech took control with an 8-0 run for a 23-14 lead before winning 25-18
- Lynn trailed by three early in the fourth set and found itself down by four at both 13-9 and 15-11
- A 3-0 run pulled Lynn to within one at 15-14
- Howard smacked a kill that kick started a 9-1 run that sealed a 25-20 win in the fourth set

Isabella Gentile posted an ace as part of the 9-1 run
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Howard hit an impressive .692 with 10 kills and three blocks
- Chara smacked a career-best 14 kills
- Gentile set a career-high with 28 digs

Emily Edwards handed out a career-high 62 assists, her first career match with 60-plus assists
- Wolf posted a double-double with a career-high in both kills (24) and digs (16)
