AUSTIN, Texas – Lynn University graduate setter Emily Edwards has been selected to the 2023 Volleyball Academic All-America First Team as chosen by the College Sports Communicators, Tuesday afternoon.
 
Edwards has carried a perfect 4.0 grade point average throughout both her undergraduate and graduate coursework at Lynn. A Business Administration major, Edwards is one of eight student-athletes awarded Academic All-American honors at the NCAA Division II level with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
 
In the history of the Fighting Knight volleyball program, Edwards is just the fifth all-time Academic All-American, the third First Team selection and the third student-athlete to earn the award twice.
 
Edwards finished fifth in the nation in total assists (1,377) and ninth in assists per set (11.10). She surpassed 3,000 career assists in the regular-season finale against Eckerd, becoming just the third player to achieve the milestone in program history.
 
Edwards was named an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Third Team All-American this fall becoming the only setter in program history to earn two All-American awards (First Team - 2022) and she is one of four players in history two earn the award twice.
 
The Fighting Knights finished the 2023 campaign with a 26-8 overall record that included the program's first ever trip to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16.

2024 Academic All-Americans
