WINTER PARK, Fla. - Lynn baseball dropped both ends of its doubleheader with Rollins, Saturday. In game one
Leon Paulino hit two home runs in a 3-2 loss, while he added an RBI double and
Deric LaMontagne posted three hits in an 8-2 game two defeat.
The Fighting Knights are now 15-12 overall and 3-6 in the SSC.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 1):
- Rollins took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third following three consecutive singles
- Starting pitcher Devin Sweeney allowed just the one run over six innings
- Paulino took an 0-1 pitch deep to right to tie the game at one in the top of the seventh
- Reliever Jered Terefenko struck out the final batter of the bottom of the seventh with a runner in scoring position
- The Tars broke the tie in the bottom of the eighth with a two-run home run
- Paulino hit a two-out solo homer in the top of the ninth to bring the Fighting Knights within one run, 3-2
- Lynn ended the game with a ground out

- Paulino hit his seventh and eighth home runs to tie for the SSC lead in 2024
- Sweeney's pitching line: 6 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 6 SO
- Lynn's 27 home runs this season rank second in the Sunshine State Conference
HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 2):
- AJ Orrico led off the game with a walk and later scored on Paulino's double
- The Tars took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the second on two hits and an error
- A Rollins double and single led to another run in the bottom of the third inning
- The Tars hit a two-run homer in the fifth and scored on a sacrifice fly fly in the sixth to take a five-run lead
- Rollins used a solo homer and a sac fly to score its final two runs
- Two hitters reached for Lynn in the top of the ninth but no runs were scored for an 8-2 final
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS (Game 2):
- LaMontagne had three hits and is hitting .500 (11-for-22) over his six-game hitting streak
- Paulino has recorded 17 RBI over his last 10 games
- Lynn's four runs scored in the doubleheader were its fewest runs over a two-game stretch all season
