DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Lynn closed its 2023-24 campaign with a loss against Embry-Riddle in the first round of the SSC Championship, Tuesday night.
Trinity Mocadlo led Lynn with 11 points, while
Carly Stroemel contributed nine points, five rebounds and three blocks. The sixth-seeded Fighting Knights outshot the Eagles from the field, but committed nine more turnovers and made 13 fewer free throws in the tightly contested game.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Fighting Knights shot 42% from the field and 41% from three, while ERAU shot 35% and 31%
- Lynn outscored Embry-Riddle 14-10 in the first quarter, but were outscored in each of the final three quarters
- Lynn shot 50% (12-for-24) in the second half, while the Eagles went 11-for-14 from the foul line in the fourth quarter
- Mocadlo buried a three on a pass from
Marianna Klavina to open the game

Ella Fiore's layup gave Lynn a 7-4 lead with 6:26 remaining in the first quarter
- Stroemel hit a long jumper, blocked a shot on Embry-Riddle's next possession, and then made a three-pointer on the other end to give Lynn a 14-8 lead
- Klavina's steal led to a
Rachel Romich jump-stop 18-footer to give Lynn a 19-15 lead
- Fiore found Klavina for an open three-pointer as Lynn led 22-19 with 5:03 left in the first half
- The Fighting Knights were held scoreless over the final 5:03 as the Eagles ended the half on a 7-0 run to lead 26-22
- Mocadlo made a three from the corner to end the drought and put Lynn within three, 28-25
- Fiore's long two-pointer put the Fighting Knights within one, 32-31 with under six minutes left in the third quarter

Danielle Montelbano swished a three to tie the game at 36
- The Eagles closed the quarter with a three pointer and led by five heading into the final 10 minutes, 41-36
- Neither team converted a field goal attempt in the first four minutes of the fourth quarter as each team went 2-for-2 from the foul line
- Embry-Riddle led 47-40 at the under-five timeout
- Mocadlo's three from the top of the key cut the Eagles lead to two, 47-45, with 3:56 remaining
- Embry-Riddle went 9-for-12 from the charity stripe over the final three minutes to hang on for a 59-52 win, as the Fighting Knights were unable to make it a one-possession game over the span
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Mocadlo led the Fighting Knights in scoring for the third consecutive game
- Stroemel ended the year with 40 blocks in 28 games (1.4 BPG)
- Fiore went 4-for-7 from the field and added nine rebounds, two steals and two blocks
