LAKELAND, Fla. – The Lynn University men's tennis team won four singles matches to rally past No. 11 Florida Southern for a 4-3 victory, Saturday. The Fighting Knights are now 7-5 overall and 3-3 in league play.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Mocs took the first point of the match by winning the first and third doubles flights
- Junior
Gianmarco Amatiste and graduate
Jonathan Olive-Blanco picked up a win in the second doubles flight over Bosko Boskovic and Inaki Braun Simo, 6-4
- The duo is now 8-2 in doubles and 7-1 in the second flight
- Junior
Gabriele Felline cruised at No. 1 singles to a 6-3, 6-3 win over George Russell
- The win is his 10
th singles win of the season and seventh in the top flight
- Olive-Blanco handed Lynn its second point with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Simo in the fourth singles flight
- He now has five singles wins this spring
- Amatiste picked up the third singles win for Lynn as he defeated Boskovic at No. 5 singles, 6-4, 6-1
- The victory is his seventh and he is undefeated at 4-0 in the fifth flight
- Sophomore
Yaron Guberman closed out the afternoon for the Fighting Knights with a 6-2, 7-6 (9-7) win in the third flight over Mario Garoz
- He is now 8-1 overall in singles and 4-0 in the third flight
