MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Lynn University women's cross country team has been selected to finish in sixth place at the 2024 Sunshine State Conference Championships according to the league's preseason coaches poll.
The Fighting Knights received 18 points in the poll and trail Palm Beach Atlantic by eight points for fifth place. Barry was picked to finish in seventh place with 15 points.
Tampa received six first-place votes (48 points) and was picked to win the league title. Nova Southeastern was narrowly selected second with 44 points and two first-place votes.
Last fall, Lynn finished in sixth place at the SSC Championships, while senior
Lily Koch took 48
th place in 25:05.9. Junior
Nina Szklany was 73
rd (27:45.4) and sophomore
Mia Gagliardi finished in 76
th place (30:35.9).
Lynn opens the 2024 schedule at the Keiser Flagship Invitational at Okeeheelee Park in West Palm on Friday, Sept. 6 at 8:00 am.
