Lynn’s five-game win streak comes to end against No. 15 Florida Southern

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn dropped its conference match to No. 15 Florida Southern, 94-74, Saturday afternoon. Carson Smith went 5-for-6 from downtown and led all Fighting Knights with 21 points, while Braydon Iuli produced 18 points, seven rebounds and six assists in the loss.
 
The Blue and White are now 8-4 overall and 3-3 in the SSC.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Iuli grabbed a rebound and found Smith for layup to open the scoring
- Iuli's three-pointer gave Lynn a 14-13 lead with 13:02 left in the first half
- Smith's scored five straight points to put Lynn ahead by three, 21-18
-  Austin Vick's layup again gave the Fighting Knights a three-point advantage
- The Mocs went on an 11-1 run and led by nine with 2:24 remaining in the first half
- Layups by Sveinn Birgisson and Iuli were followed by a Smith three for seven consecutive Fighting Knight points
- FSC led 48-42 at the break with Smith leading all Fighting Knights in scoring (13)
- Iuli found Birgisson for an easy bucket to bring Lynn within five at the 17:18 mark
- A three-point play gave the Mocs a 10-point lead, 60-50
- Smith made his fourth three of the game with 15:24 left in regulation and hit another one less than two minutes later
- After a steal by Osei Price, Jordan Wilkins drained a three to bring Lynn within four, 70-66
- Florida Southern led by 10 with seven minutes remaining
- An 18-2 run over a 6:17 span led to an 91-70 Mocs advantage as the game closed with a 94-74 final
 
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:

- Smith has made multiple threes in 11 of his 12 games played and is shooting 43% from deep (36-for-84)
- Iuli is fourth in the SSC in assists per game (5.3) and is one of eight players in the conference with a field goal percentage over 50%
- Birgisson had four steals to lead the Fighting Knights
- Price was +18 over his 22 minutes played to lead Lynn in +/-
