Fiore stars with 14 points and 18 rebounds in overtime victory over FSC

BOCA RATON, Fla. – In a game of runs, Lynn outscored Florida Southern 14-3 in overtime for a 74-63 conference win on Saturday afternoon. The Fighting Knights, who were led by Ella Fiore's double-double (14 points, 18 rebounds), shot 56.3% from three-point range to improve to 8-5 overall and 2-4 in the SSC.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Threes by Trinity Mocadlo and Rachel Romich, along with an inside bucket from Jess Knight gave Lynn an 8-0 lead to start the game
- After a Mocs field goal, the Fighting Knights followed with a 10-0 run, led by four Knight points and three-pointers from Mocadlo and Romich
- The Blue and White led by eight, 18-10, through 10 minutes as Knight, Mocadlo and Romich each chipped in six points during the quarter
- Fiore ended a 12-0 Florida Southern run with a three-pointer for a seven-point Fighting Knight advantage
- Danielle Montelbano drove to the hoop for a contested layup to put Lynn ahead by five, 25-20
- The Mocs tied the game at 27 with just over three minutes remaining in the first half
- Lynn closed the half on an 8-0 run thanks to a layup by Fiore, traditional three-point play Montelbano and three by Romich to take a 35-27 lead into the break
- An 8-0 Mocs run to open the second half gave them the lead with 7:17 left in the third quarter
- Lynn ended the third on a 10-2 run as Mocadlo closed the frame with a three-pointer at the buzzer
- Fiore banked in a turnaround shot to put Lynn ahead 55-51 with just over five minutes remaining in regulation
- Makayla Hemingway's three-pointer once again gave a Fighting Knights a four-point margin with 4:09 showing on the clock
- Florida Southern tied the game at 58 with two minutes left in the fourth
- Down two, Mocadlo drew a shooting foul with 1.8 seconds remaining and made both free throws to send the game to overtime, 60-60
- Mocadlo found Fiore for a three in the first possession of extra time
- Fiore's layup gave Lynn a 70-62 lead and Knight followed with an offensive rebound and putback for a 10-point advantage with 1:26 left in overtime to put the game away
- Fiore and Knight each scored six points in OT 

FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Fiore set a career high with 18 rebounds and recorded the 13th double-digit rebound game of her Lynn career
- Knight was 10-for-10 from the charity stripe and was a rebound shy of a double-double (18 points, 9 rebounds)
- Mocadlo had a season-high 17 points over 42 minutes of action and was 3-for-4 from three
- Romich, who made three three-pointers, is shooting 55% from deep over her last three games (6-for-11)
- Montelbano tied a career high with eight rebounds (accomplished five times) and added nine points, four assists and a block
- She ranks fourth in the SSC in assists per game (4.2), third in assist/turnover ratio (1.9) and is tied for first in minutes per game (36.2)
- Lynn made a season-high nine three-pointers
- The Fighting Knights had the edge in rebounds (52-33) and led for over 34 minutes
