BOCA RATON, Fla. - The No.1 Lynn University men's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to seven games in 2025 after a 2-0 win over Embry-Riddle in Sunshine State Conference play, Wednesday night.
Rui Ferreira scored his first goal for Lynn, to remain undefeated against Embry-Riddle in the program's history.
The Fighting Knights are now 7-0 overall and 3-0 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Fighting Knights dictated the tempo early, creating chances through Ferreira and
Jan Rohrling before Ferreira broke the deadlock in the 25th minute
- Off a setup from
Dominik N'gatie, Ferreira slotted home the opener to put Lynn ahead, 1-0
- Lynn's defense weathered a physical half that featured 15 combined fouls and yellow cards issued to both sides
- The Fighting Knights carried their 1-0 lead into halftime
- Embry-Riddle pressed after the break, forcing
Luca Clavero into back-to-back saves in the 49th and 50th minutes
- The Blue and White nearly doubled the margin in the 56th and 71st minutes as
Luan Barroso Rennstich forced multiple saves, including a dangerous low strike that tested the Eagles' keeper
- Rennstich would not be denied, breaking through in the 75th minute when he buried a feed from
Fabian Vyhnalek and
Fynn Friedrichs to extend Lynn's lead to 2-0
- The Fighting Knights managed the match with key substitutions and defensive discipline, with Clavero turning away a late strike in the 89th minute to preserve his clean sheet
- Behind goals from Ferreira and Rennstich and a four-save effort from Clavero, Lynn secured a hard-fought 2-0 conference victory at Bobby Campbell Stadium

- Lynn holds a 17-0 record against Embry-Riddle in the program's all-time head-to-head matchups
- Historically, the Fighting Knights have scored 62 goals against the Eagles
- Barroso Rennsitch scored his third goal of the season and is currently No. 8 in the SSC in goals scored
