Lynn falls to Barry in conference play

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. - Lynn women's soccer battled hard on the road Wednesday night but came up short in a 2-0 loss to Barry. The Fighting Knights (1-7-4, 0-5-1 SSC) generated several late opportunities, including shots from Payton Kaiser and multiple corner kicks, yet couldn't break through against a disciplined Buccaneers defense that sealed the match in the final minutes.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After a balanced opening stretch, Barry struck first in the 23rd minute, taking an early 1-0 lead
- Goalkeeper Emma Brunelli came up big late in the half, recording key saves on back-to-back shots from a pair of Buccaneers in the 38th minute to keep the deficit at one
- Both sides played aggressively throughout the half, combining for multiple fouls early
- The Buccaneers held much of the possession, earning three corner kicks and firing several off-target attempts
- Lynn earned a corner in the 44th minute and saw Kayla Bradby push a shot wide moments earlier, but the Knights entered halftime trailing 1-0
- The Fighting Knights opened the second half on the front foot, earning multiple free kicks and seeing early shots from Julia Hellenkamp and K'La Barnes-Blackwood
- Despite Lynn's strong push, Barry doubled its advantage in the 70th minute when the Buccaneers found the top-left corner of the net to put Barry ahead 2-0
- Brunelli continued her strong play, making several key saves to keep the Fighting Knights within reach
