Women's hoops selected fifth in SSC preseason coaches poll

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Sunshine State Conference released its 2025–26 women's basketball preseason coaches poll on Wednesday, with Lynn University picked to finish fifth among 11 league teams.

The Fighting Knights have been consistently competitive in the SSC, compiling a 40-40 conference record over the past four seasons. Despite graduating a strong senior class, head coach Julia Tucker has reloaded with a talented mix of transfers and freshmen to join six returning players.

Lynn received 56 points in the poll, placing just behind Nova Southeastern (75) and Eckerd (81). Tampa tops the poll with 95 points and five first-place votes, while Embry-Riddle sits close behind with 90 points and a conference-best six first-place nods.

The Blue and White will open the season at home, hosting the GSC/SSC Crossover on November 14 and 15. Lynn will face Christian Brothers on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 3:00 p.m., followed by a matchup against Trevecca Nazarene on Friday, Nov. 15 at 1:00 p.m.
