MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Lynn women's soccer team dropped its road match to Florida Tech, 2-0, on Wednesday evening. The Fighting Knights had multiple scoring chances, including a shot off the crossbar that was reviewed and seven shots on goal, but were unable to capitalize in a tightly contested Sunshine State Conference matchup.
The Blue and White are now 2-9-4 overall and 1-7-1 in SSC play.
HOW IT HAPPENED:

Emma Brunelli made her first save just 3:08 into the match
- Florida Tech took an early 1-0 lead in the seventh minute
- Brunelli added another stop at the 17:58 mark
- With under five minutes left in the first half,
Arianna Kinsley's left-footed shot up high was saved by the Panthers' goalkeeper
- Moments later,
Maiya Barbar took a shot from just outside the box that was also stopped

Brisa Sastre narrowly missed a goal in the 59th minute when her hard shot off a corner kick went just wide

K'La Barnes-Blackwood and
Brooklyn Steiner followed with shots minutes later, with Steiner's attempt striking the crossbar
- Kinsley took another shot that was snagged by the Tech goalkeeper
- Following a foul in the box, Florida Tech converted a penalty kick to extend its lead to 2-0 with under 25 minutes remaining

Kiana Rhee-Osorio sent a high shot on goal in the 69th minute that was saved
- Brunelli made a tough stop on a shot inside the box in the 73rd minute

Kayleigh Merchant tallied a pair of shots on goal late, but the Panthers held on for the 2-0 win
