Fighting Knights fall in Round of 16 of NCAA Tournament

BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Lynn University men's soccer team's postseason run came to an end on Sunday afternoon, as the Fighting Knights fell 3-1 to Mississippi College in the NCAA Division II Sweet Sixteen at Bobby Campbell Stadium.
Lynn created steady pressure across both halves and continued to push late, but early second-half strikes from Mississippi College proved decisive despite a late goal from Dominik N'gatie that trimmed the deficit in the final 10 minutes.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn settled into the match early, generating its first opportunity in the eighth minute when Luan Barroso Rennstich sent a shot just wide of the top-right corner
- The Fighting Knights earned multiple first-half corner kicks as sustained possession built attacking momentum
- Rui Ferreira tested the Choctaws in the 20th minute with a shot on goal as Lynn continued to test the back line
- Mississippi College opened the scoring at 22:49, capitalizing on shot from 25-yards out to take a 1-0 lead
- Robin Muenst produced Lynn's best look of the half late, forcing a team save with a low shot to the bottom right
- Luca Clavero added a key stop just before halftime as Lynn entered the break trailing 1-0
- Mississippi College threatened early in the second half, but Clavero denied a low shot in the 47th minute
- Lynn responded with a flurry of chances, as Barroso Rennstich, Jan Rohrling, and Ferreira each forced saves within a 20-second stretch
- The Choctaws extended the lead at 50:40, finishing a sequence inside the box to make it 2-0
- Mississippi College threatened again with a shot inside the box that was turned away by a goal line clearance from Marc Ehmann
- Mississippi College added a third goal with 70:11 on the clock to create late separation
- The Blue and White answered late as N'gatie finished in the 80th minute off an assist from Muenst to cut the deficit to 3-1
- Lynn pressed for more over the final minutes, generating multiple shots and a late corner kick, but was unable to find another breakthrough before the final whistle
