BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn men's basketball defeated No. 16 Florida Southern 107-74 on Saturday afternoon at the de Hoernle Sports Center. The Fighting Knights shot 56% from the field and used a series of extended runs to cruise to the victory.

Max Polk, the Blue and White's leading scorer this season, knocked down four three-pointers en route to a game-high 23 points. John Roland added a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds as Lynn improved to 7-2 overall and 3-1 in Sunshine State Conference play, tied for second in the league standings.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Roland started Lynn's scoring with two baskets, including a steal and offensive rebound for a 4-2 lead
- A 9-0 run was capped by a Roland three for a 13-4 Fighting Knight advantage
- The margin reached 10, 18-8, as JP Baron grabbed a rebound and found Antoine Jacks for an inside finish
- The Blue and White continued their hot stretch with a 13-0 run, helped by three-pointers from Sveinn Birgisson, Justin Bubak and Frederiks Meinarts
- Bubak grabbed an offensive board and found Bubak for a three to double up FSC, 44-22, with 3:52 remaining in the first half
- Jacks found Roland for a shot from beyond the arc to cap a 14-0 run and 50-22 lead
- Jacks closed the half with a short jumper for a 57-26 Lynn lead heading into the break
- Lynn started the second half with baskets by Bubak and Braydon Iuli to push the difference to 35
- Polk hit a three for a 64-34 score with 17:19 left
- Matthew Puodziukaitis tipped in a missed shot as Lynn reached 70 points with over 14 minutes remaining
- Polk's layup kept the Lynn margin at 30 with over five minutes showing on the clock
- Meinarts capped on 8-0 Blue and White spurt with a dunk to reach triple digits, 101-66
- Christopher Maxon knocked down a pair of free throws for Lynn's final points

FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Lynn shot 56% from the field and 45% from three-point range
- The Fighting Knights had a 50-33 advantage on the glass
- Roland scored 17 of his 21 points in the first half and recorded his third career double-double
- Jacks had a game-high eight assists and led all players with a +30 plus/minus rating
- Polk is averaging 17.6 points per game
- Iuli had a season-high 19 points and is now averaging 13.7 points per game
- Meinarts was a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc
- Roland leads the SSC in field goal percentage (67%), while Jacks ranks first in assists per game (6.3)
- Twenty-one of Lynn's 41 made field goals were assisted; the Fighting Knights are one of five Division II programs averaging more than 20 assists per game
- Lynn's 97.0 points per game ranks fourth nationally in DII
- The Fighting Knights posted their best field goal percentage since shooting 57.7% in an 83-82 win over Eckerd on 1/3/2024
- This was Lynn's first win against a ranked opponent since defeating No. 4 Nova Southeastern on 1/8/2020
