Lynn falls to Tampa in SSC action

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn fell to Tampa, 75-55, in Sunshine State Conference action Tuesday afternoon at the de Hoernle Sports Center. Junior Trinity Mocadlo led the Fighting Knights with 13 points, reaching double figures in scoring for the 10th time this season. Lynn drops to 7-4 overall and 2-3 in SSC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- A steal by Hannah Wentworth led to a layup by Mocadlo for the game's first points
- Tampa responded by catching fire from beyond the arc, going 5-for-5 from three to take a 24-6 lead after one quarter
- Lynn outscored the Spartans 17-14 in the second quarter
 - Katie Tiffan scored four points over a 90-second stretch as Lynn trailed 29-12
- Three-pointers by Mocadlo, Kennedi Neale and Angelina Deleon cut the margin to 15 at halftime
- Karishma Ortiz hit a turnaround jumper and Serena Baker knocked down a three to make it 44-31
- Tampa closed the third quarter on a 9-3 run to extend its lead to 20
- Emily Jean-Glaude recorded four points and a steal in the first two minutes of the fourth quarter
- Lynn answered a 10-3 Tampa run with an 8-2 spurt
- Ortiz grabbed an offensive rebound and found Wentworth for a three
- Wentworth later assisted an inside basket by Alana Francis
- Wentworth's jumper closed the scoring in the 75-55 final

FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Wentworth scored eight of her 10 points in the fourth quarter and added a season-high eight rebounds
- Tiffan went 4-for-5 from the field, with three of her five rebounds coming on the offensive end
- Lynn finished with 11 offensive rebounds
- Both teams committed 11 turnovers
- The Blue and White tied a season high with four blocks
- Lynn attempted a season-low three free throws
