Fighting Knights roll past Eckerd in 86–67 conference victory

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - A 14-0 first-half run guided Lynn to an 86-67 win over Eckerd in Sunshine State Conference action on Saturday. John Roland filled the stat sheet for the Fighting Knights with 20 points on 9-of-13 shooting, eight rebounds, two steals and two blocks. 

Lynn is now 5-2 overall and 2-1 in the SSC.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Tritons made shots early to open a 15-9 lead five minutes into the game
- Roland's and-one cut the margin to three, 15-12
- Back-to-back threes by Justin Bubak put Lynn within two with 12:26 left in the first half
- The Fighting Knights went on a 14-0 run to take their first lead of the game
- Lynn trailed by two again, 25-23, after Frederiks Meinarts three-pointer
- Max Polk's steal and pass to JP Baron for a layup tied the game 
- Polk scored the final nine points of the Lynn run to lead 34-25
- Lynn led 42-35 with 4:27 remaining in the opening half after Braydon Iuli's three-pointer
- Baron hit three three-pointers in a 1:16 span as the Blue and White led by six at the break
- The Fighting Knights opened up a double-digit lead on Polk's jumper
- Antoine Jacks found Bubak for a three to expand Lynn's advantage to 16 with 10:18 remaining in regulation
- Roland's offensive board and put-back gave the Fighting Knights an 81-60 lead
- Iuli forced a turnover and made both free throws for Lynn's largest lead at 23 with 2:38 left
- The game ended with a 19-point win for the Blue and White

FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- The Fighting Knights had the advantage in points off turnovers (20-10), second-chance points (24-11), bench points (24-16), points in the paint (34-26), fast-break points (14-4) and steals (12-6)
- 20 of Lynn's 32 field goals were assisted
- Lynn held Eckerd to just 20 points on 23% shooting in the second half
- Jacks was a game-best +23 in +/- and also led all players with eight assists
- Roland is shooting 64% from the field this season while averaging 11.1 ppg and 7.1 rpg
- Polk is averaging 17.7 ppg and had a season-high four steals
- Lynn is 3-0 when committing 10 or fewer turnovers this season
- The Fighting Knights tied a season high with 12 steals
