BOCA RATON, Fla.- The Lynn University men's tennis team got back in the win column after defeating Augusta at home on Friday afternoon, 4-2.
The Fighting Knights improved to 2-1 on the year while Augusta suffered its first loss of the season at 2-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn claimed the doubles point, winning in both the second and third flight.
- The team of Aymen Alimoussa and Santino Morel collected a 6-4 win in No. 2 doubles over Leandro Costa and David Perret.
- Daniel Azar and Aaron Brandenburger defeated Mario Curiel and Humberto Pinto in the No. 3 spot, 7-5 to clinch the doubles point.
- Alimoussa claimed the first singles win for the Fighting Knights in the second flight over Alexis Bailhache 6-1, 6-1.
- Alimoussa improved to 2-1 in the number two spot.
- Lennart Ostheimer defeated David Perret in the No. 3 singles, 6-4, 7-6. Ostheimer improved to 2-1 on the year.
- Azar locked up the match in favor of the Fighting Knights in the fourth spot over Pinto after dropping the first set, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.
- Davide Cortimiglia was locked in a battle in the fifth flight before Azar clinched the match for the Blue and White.
