KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Lynn's
Leo Beath was named the NABC/D2CIDA Men's National Player of the Week on Tuesday.
The junior from Malibu, California recorded a triple-double, the first in the SSC this season, in the Fighting Knights' 98-70 win over Florida Tech on February 12. He tallied 14 points, 14 rebounds, 11 assists, two blocks and a steal in the win. It marked the first triple-double in Lynn history since the NCAA started recording the stat in 2012.
Beath followed that historic performance with a game-high 29 points in a 94-84 win over Rollins on February 15. Over the two games, Beath had a superb 7:1 assist/turnover ratio while averaging 21.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, 7.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.0 blocks.
This season, Beath leads the 16-7 Fighting Knights in scoring (18.3) and rebounding (8.7). The team ranks second in the nation in threes per game (12.9) and third in turnovers per game (9.1).
The NABC-D2CIDA Division II Player of the Week is selected by the NABC and the Division II Conference Information Directors Association.
