TAMPA, Fla. – The Lynn University men and women's track teams had a successful opening meet of the 2025 season. The men collected two first place finishes and set two program records while the women placed first twice and set three program records.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Men):
- The men's 4x800 relay squad of
Luke Sweatman,
Robert LeBrun,
Joseph Haynes, and
Tyler Barrios took the school record and 2nd place with a time of 8:05.37.
- In the 400 hurdles,
Denzel Rigaud took second with the time of 10.55. Rigaud also took 10th place in the 100 with a time of 11.50.
- Also in the 400 hurdles, freshman
Ethan Poitier took 9th place with a time of 1:00.18. Right behind Poitier in 10th place came
Max Reid with a time of 1:01.31.

- Following Rigaud in the 100 was Reid with the time of 12.07.
- Lebrun took 4th place in the 200 meters with a time of 21.93.
- Behind LeBrun in the 200 was
McClain Zendejas in 15th place with a time of 22.85. Zendejas also took 5th place in the 400 with the time of 51.11.
- Freshman
Lucas Oliveira took first place in the 800 with a time of 1:54.20.
Cameron Matejka came in 4th with the time of 1:56.46.

Joshua Uhrig took 7th place in the 1500 with a time of 4:01.20.
- In the 3000 senior
Joseph Haynes came in 7th with a time of 8:45.80.
- Sweatman took the school record again in the 5000 with the time of 14:39.85.
- In the 4 x 400 LeBrun,
Isaiah Bryant,
Justin Dewar, and
Collin Clark took first place with a time of 3:17.38.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Women):
- The women 4 X 800 started the meet off strong taking the school record.
Jessica Lombardo,
Lily Koch,
Lindsey Byer, and
Skyler Gillett took first place with the time of 10:01.74.

Mira Akan took the school record in the 400 hurdles and placed 4th with the time of 1:05.41.
- Following behind Akan was junior
Brooke Bond with the time of 1:11.32.
Kalei McPherson placed 8th with the time of 1:16.21.
- McPherson took 14th place in the 100 with the time of 13.55.
- Freshmen
Tessa Bray took 7th place in the 200 meters with a time of 26.66.
Emma Smith followed in 13th place with a time of 27.06.

- In the 100 hurdles, McPherson came in 4th at 18.97. Bond followed in 5th with a time of 21.14.
- In the 400 meters
Emma Smith secured 4th place with a time of 1:00.27. Following Smith was Bray in 11th place with the time of 1:03.88.
- Gillett took 6th place in the 800 meters with a time of 2:26.44.
Angelina Howard also ran and took 14th place with a time of 2:33.96.
- Lombardo took 11th place in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:55.96.
- The Women's 4 x 100 took the school record as well. Smith, Akan, Bray, and
Alijah Giustino took first place with a time of 48.76.
- In the 4 x 400, Giustino, Bray, Akan, and Koch came in 4th place with a time of 4:17.10.
