Geathers sets school record as Lynn men compete at SEU Last Chance Meet

LAKELAND, Fla. - The Lynn University men's track and field team wrapped up the 2026 track season with a strong showing at the SEU Fire Last Chance Meet, highlighted by a school-record performance from Jayden Geathers in the 110m hurdles. Led by a young core featuring freshman standout Evan Joseph, the Fighting Knights closed the year with multiple top finishes and valuable postseason-level experience as the program continued building momentum for the future.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
200m
- Evan Joseph added a strong performance in the 200m, placing fifth overall with a time of 22.18
- Justin Dewar was entered in the event but did not start (DNS)
 
400m
- Joseph highlighted the meet for the Fighting Knights, placing second overall in the 400m with a time of 46.87
- Joseph's mark remained under the NCAA provisional qualifying standard, concluding his freshman season with experience and drive heading into next season
- Dewar also competed in the event, finishing his run in 46.90
 
110m Hurdles
- Jayden Geathers opened the meet with a strong showing in the 110m hurdles, finishing third overall with a time of 14.98
- Geathers set a new Lynn school record in the event, surpassing the previous mark of 16.21
 
400m Hurdles
- Geathers returned later in the meet to finish sixth overall in the 400m hurdles with a time of 54.90
- His performance came just under his season-best mark of 54.98 as he continued a strong stretch across both hurdle events
