Box Score DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – In a game that came down to the final possession, the Lynn men's basketball team fell just short in a hard-fought 88-86 road loss to Embry-Riddle on Wednesday night.
Lynn now sits at 14-6 overall and 9-5 in the Sunshine State Conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED:

Carson Smith opened the scoring for the Fighting Knights with a mid-range jumper on the first possession of the game

Jordan Wilkins connected on a three-pointer at the 19:04 mark to give Lynn a brief 5-2 advantage
- Embry-Riddle responded quickly and took early control with a 10-2 run to lead 10-5 early in the period
- A deep three from Smith cut the deficit to a one possession game, 14-12, with 13:50 remaining in the opening period
- With 8:32 left, the Eagles extended it to a four-point gap, 24-20
- Embry-Riddle capitalized on second-chance opportunities and extended their lead to 43-27 heading into halftime.
- Lynn came out firing in the second half with
Osei Price igniting a fastbreak dunk that trimmed the deficit to 14, 43-29
- A 10-point run helped Lynn close the gap to single digits, 55-46, with 13:58 remaining
- The Fighting Knights made it a one-possession game at 60-63 after Price and
Sveinn Birgisson drilled threes just under the 10-minute mark
- An "and-one" play by Wilkins gave the Fighting Knights three more points with 1:10 left in the game, 83-80 for the Eagles
- Embry-Riddle converted two free throws, but Wilkins responded with a last-second three to bring Lynn within two at the final buzzer, 88-86
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Wilkins led the way with 20 points, hitting five three-pointers and grabbing three steals
- Smith followed closely with 18 points and a game-high five assists
- Wilkins and Smith were the top two scorers of the game
- Beath recorded his fourth double-double of the season with 17 points and 11 rebounds while also adding three assists
- Price tallied 15 points and added four assists and four rebounds
